Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke

A picture-postcard harbour at the foot of the dramatic green peaks of Jost Van Dyke. Great Harbour is the center of activity on Jost - if you can call it that – this is Jost and activity is a relative term! The area has a number of beach bars, the best-known of which is Foxy’s, which originally opened up as a temporary drinks stand for one day. It has grown from those humble beginnings to become one of the best-known beach bars in the Caribbean, and its owner Foxy Callwood is known by sailors all across the world. The major events at Foxy’s each year are the Halloween Party and Halloween Cat Fight, the Wooden Boat Regatta and the Old Year’s Eve Party, which has a reputation for being one of the best New Year parties on the planet.
British Virgin Islands beaches have been voted the "best beaches" by Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine.
