Smugglers Cove, Tortola

One of the most idyllic beaches in the BVI, and many people’s favourite. Smugglers Cove is difficult to get to down a long and very bumpy track to the West of Long Bay, but it is well worth the effort. Until recently it was quite a well kept secret, but (perhaps unfortunately) more and more people are finding their way there now. The beach is fine white sand in a perfect cove, backed by palm trees and a very quiet, sparsely populated and exclusive residential area. The water is flat, calm, clear and bright blue and you will find some of the best snorkeling on the island on the coral bank just offshore.

British Virgin Islands beaches have been voted the "best beaches" by Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine.

Getting to Smugglers Cove

Drive through Long Bay resort in West End, follow signs for Belmont Estate. Follow the long and very bumpy dirt road all the way down to Smugglers Cove. There is an area for car parking just behind the beach.
